ENTYCE ACADEMY

During my digital marketing placement at Entyce Creative, I was tasked with developing a consistent brand identity for the agency's work placement scheme, 'Entyce Academy' (2025).
This involved developing two visual themes, creating promotional content and assets, designing web pages in Figma and WordPress, creating an impactful welcome brochure and writing engaging pieces of copy.
This was also a fantastic opportunity to learn about the operations of a creative marketing agency, develop my UX skills with new design tools and iterate my designs in response to feedback.

About

DESIGN PROCESS

Process

I began by researching how existing work placement brands present their themes and messages, while also evaluating current design trends. The aim of this project was to develop a brand identity that encourages students to take ownership of their future, embrace their creativity and gain valuable experience. Therefore, I focused on vibrant colour themes and iconography that would stand out and impact the target audience of prospective graduates.

Based on my research, I came up with two distinctive themes and used mood boards to visualise their colour schemes and imagery. For my first mood board, I chose to represent growth and creativity with a plant-inspired theme and a palette of cool-toned colours. My second theme  was inspired by the word 'academy' itself. This resulted in a design that could be associated with themes of education, learning and achievement, using primary colours and simple shapes to represent this.

Using my two themes as inspiration, I created three header graphics in Photoshop and Illustrator. As I aimed to explore the presence of my brand designs across various platforms, I chose to adapt my headers into both web-based landing pages and social media banners. I also experimented with the logo's typography, wrote brand slogans and desopromotional icons to complement each theme.

To further visualise how the Entyce Academy would be presented on a website, I designed an interactive web page in Figma. As I had not used Figma before this placement, I took the time to learn about its features and adapt my prototyping knowledge from Adobe XD. I first created a wireframe in greyscale to plan the page layout and interaction designs. Then, focusing on Theme 1, I designed a coloured high-fidelity prototype using my wireframe as a base.

Expanding further upon Theme 1, I sketched some concepts for a simple but memorable mascot design. Using character iconography, I explored how the Entyce Academy brand could enhance its visual presence with a single recognisable symbol. This mascot could be featured on social media posts, business cards, merchandise and more.

At this point, I presented my ideas to the team, which was an excellent opportunity to receive constructive feedback and review my work. Based on the feedback I had been given, I decided to dedicate the second phase of my placement to building upon Theme 2, which had gained significant interest.

Next, I designed a welcome brochure in InDesign, bringing Theme 2 to life. This product aimed to provide an informative and engaging onboarding experience for prospective students, while showcasing Entyce Academy's core values. A key challenge in this process was designing visually distinct pages that consistently aligned with the colours and imagery of Theme 2. I also structured each page layout to ensure all written content fit neatly without overcrowding the page.

As I was interested in learning WordPress, I revisited web design to expand on Theme 2's digital presence. This was another excellent opportunity to put my UX knowledge into practice, as I was able to carefully adapt the colour scheme of Theme 2 to my initial wireframe layout. As I familiarised myself with WordPress' page-building tools, I learned to create a simple web page template.

To complete the Entyce Academy branding project, I designed a commemorative certificate in Photoshop and Illustrator, following the identity of Theme 2. This would be awarded to Entyce Academy graduates upon successfully completing their placement.
